The IR2101 is a high-side and low-side MOSFET/IGBT gate driver IC originally developed by International Rectifier (now part of Infineon). It is widely used in half-bridge, full-bridge, inverter, SMPS, UPS, BLDC motor, and induction heating applications. Key Specifications • Part Number: IR2101 / IR2101PBF • Function: High-Side & Low-Side Gate Driver • High-Side Voltage: Up to 600 V • Supply Voltage (VCC): 10 V to 20 V • Peak Output Drive: o Source: 210 mA o Sink: 360 mA • Package: DIP-8 / SOIC-8 • Logic Input: Compatible with 3.3 V, 5 V, and 15 V logic • Bootstrap Operation: Supported • Applications: MOSFET and IGBT gate driving Pin Configuration (DIP-8) Pin Name Description 1 LO Low-side gate output 2 COM Ground 3 VCC Driver supply (10–20 V) 4 LIN Low-side logic input 5 HIN High-side logic input 6 VS High-side floating return 7 HO High-side gate output 8 VB Bootstrap supply Typical Applications • Inverters • UPS Systems • BLDC Motor Controllers • H-Bridge Motor Drivers • SMPS • Induction Heating • Solar Inverters Important Note The IR2101 does not include built-in dead-time generation. Your controller (MCU, PWM IC, etc.) must ensure that the high-side and low-side MOSFETs are not turned on simultaneously, otherwise shoot-through can occur.
